Since its establishment in 1958 and the commencement of operations in 1961, the Untersberg Cable Car (UBB) has stood for impressive technological achievements in the world of cable cars. The reversible aerial tramway, operated in pendulum mode, masterfully navigates the geographical features of the Untersberg.

History

At the beginning of this century, there was already a plan to develop the Untersberg with a cable car originating from the city of Salzburg, running from the former harbor building at Rudolfsplatz to the Salzburger Hochthron, without any support structures.
