Mountain rescue hut
The Kühsteinhütte is the service hut of the Grödig mountain rescue service on the Untersbergstock at 1,406 metres above sea level in the municipality of Grödig. It is located above the Schweigmühlalm and serves as a base for the mountain rescue service. The hut is open to the public in winter when the piste is open, on Shrove Tuesday and every second Sunday in October for mountain mass.

Hochalm on the Untersberg

Stöhrhaus
The Stöhrhaus is located at 1,894 metres above sea level on the Untersberg in the Berchtesgaden Alps – slightly below the Berchtesgadener Hochthron (1,972 metres) – and belongs to the DAV Berchtesgaden section as a refuge of the German Alpine Club. It has been extensively renovated and modernised in recent years.

Toni Lenz hut
The Toni Lenz hut is located at 1450 metres above sea level on the south-eastern side of the Untersberg. The Schellenberg ice cave is just a 20-minute walk away. After an extensive hike, enjoy the view from the hut’s sun terrace of the marvellous panorama of the Alps.

Zeppezauerhaus
From the Zeppezauerhaus, you can undertake numerous tours across the entire Untersberg. The area also offers the best conditions for climbers and cave explorers.
